14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft started the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update rollout earlier this week for the first batch of devices, and now the company has released ISOs for the RTM build to allow for a clean install.
And while these ISOs are really helpful for those who want to start from scratch, it’s very important to note that they’re specifically addressed to insiders and not to the production ring.
In other words, these ISOs allow insiders to install Windows 10 build 16299 (RTM) on their PCs, which comes in very handy especially if they are currently on an older build of the operating system. Once the install comes to an end, Windows 10 will be registered for the insider program and will receive updates as such, so it’s important not to install this on production machines.
Microsoft typically releases new ISOs for insiders once a specific build is part of the Slow ring, but the company needed a few more days this time to make them available since they allow the install of the RTM version.
Stable Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ISOs
The company is offering only 3 different versions of Windows 10 build 16299 ISOs, namely Windows 10 Insider Preview, Windows 10 Insider Preview Enterprise, and Windows 10 Insider Preview Home China. Previously, Education and Home Single Languages were also offered.
As for users who want to download the ISO images for the stable version of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, they can turn to the Media Creation Tool to get them.
The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is going live in stages to computers across the world, just like the previous Windows 10 updates, as the company wants to make sure that it fixes the most critical bugs in the operating system and addresses compatibility issues with the software and hardware of each machine.
There’s no ETA as to when the Fall Creators Update rollout is supposed to complete, but it typically takes approximately 3 months before the go-ahead is given to all systems.
