The monthly Patch Tuesday rollout includes a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) as well, pushing OS build to 15063.1029.

In this case, the cumulative update we’re talking about is KB4093107 and it doesn’t come with a lengthy changelog, though the improvements that it brings are pretty important for both home users and enterprises.

First and foremost, cumulative update KB4093107 includes all the security patches that Microsoft prepared for its operating system this month, so it bundles fixes for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browsers, Windows app platform and frameworks, the Microsoft scripting engine, Windows graphics, the Windows kernel, and other system components.

On the other hand, there are also other quality improvements and bug fixes, including for an issue that generated an access violation on certain pages in Internet Explorer when rendering SVGs under a high load.

No known issues

While at first glance this might seem like a huge waste of time since Internet Explorer is no longer getting much love from Microsoft, it certainly isn’t. Internet Explorer is still the preferred choice for many enterprises because of compatibility reasons, and the browser is being used internally for apps and services that haven’t yet been migrated to Microsoft Edge.

Additionally, this new cumulative update addresses unnamed issues with time zone information, and everything should now work correctly on all Windows systems.

Somewhat surprising is that this update doesn’t come with any known issues, and we should probably assume that KB4093107 installs correctly for everyone. Of course, judging from what happened in the past with cumulative updates this clearly remains to be seen, as failed installs and BSODs are two of the things that many users and IT pros are still afraid of every month.

We’ll be keeping an eye out on reports to monitor the experience with cumulative update KB4093107 and if you come across any issue, make sure you let us know in the box after the jump.
