Creators Update systems getting patched too

Systems running Windows 10 Creators Update are getting their own cumulative update today on Patch Tuesday, and this time the version of the operating system is bumped to 15063.483.

This cumulative update is mostly aimed at fixing security vulnerabilities in Windows 10, and this is why it lands on Patch Tuesday, but at the same time, it also comes with important bug fixes that refine the overall performance in the OS.

For example, KB4025342 addresses an issue that was caused by a previous cumulative update and causing Internet Explorer to close unexpectedly when visiting certain websites.

There are issues for several critical services in Windows 10, including for a bug in CoreMessaging.dll that may cause 32-bit apps to crash on the 64-bit version of the Windows OS. Since it’s Patch Tuesday, there are a ton of security updates for apps like IE11 and Microsoft Edge, but also for Windows 10 components and features like search, the Graphics Component, and the Windows kernel-mode drivers.

Known issue

The changelog includes more such improvements and you can check it in full in the box after the jump, but there’s one thing that you should really have in mind when installing the update.

If you use Comodo Internet Security Suite and you’re not running the latest version, this cumulative update will not be offered on Windows Update. Microsoft says that Comodo is already aware of the problem and working on a fix, so in the meantime you can try downloading the update manually from the Update Catalog as a workaround.

There are no other known issues and the cumulative update appears to install correctly, with no failed installs reported until now.

Users are recommended to install the cumulative update as soon as possible, especially because it comes with so many security patches for Windows and the included modules. We’ll be keeping an eye on any potential issues and update this post should such problems arise.
