Windows 10 Creators Update Launch Date Allegedly Confirmed by New Leak

April 11 seems to be the day when RS2 launches

It’s not a secret that the Windows 10 Creators Update is almost ready, and there’s evidence that build 15063 is the RTM version that everyone is going to get next month, but up until now, there was no confirmation of the rumored April 11 launch.

Earlier today, however, the Windows 10 Update Assistant tool got leaked, and upon further inspection from Russian website thecommunity.ru, it looks like it contains references to this April 11 target as well.

First and foremost, what’s with this Windows 10 Update Assistant? In just a few words, this is an application developed by Microsoft supposed to provide an easy way to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10, in this case the Creators Update, by scanning for possible app compatibility issues and checking the available storage space.

All but confirmed: Windows 10 build 15063 is RTM

If all requirements are met, then the Update Assistant proceeds to download an image of the latest Windows 10 version. And although at first the leaked version failed to download the Creators Update, the source mentioned above managed to discover direct links to the ESD files that are used to distribute the new version of the operating system.

Unsurprisingly, they are for build 15063, which once again confirms that this is the RTM version that everyone is going to get next month and which is already available for Fast and Slow ring insiders.

Additionally, the XML file that includes information about the ESD also hides some references that seem to point to the release date of the Creators Update, such as a line that reads “release=20170411 RS2_RTM WU.”

This appears to indicate that the Creators Update is projected to become available via Windows Update on April 11, which is the same date that was speculated in the last few weeks.

April 11 is also next month’s Patch Tuesday, so these rumors seem to make sense, especially given that Microsoft is expected to ship a new cumulative update including fixes and improvements it created between RTM compiling date and launch day.
