Latest build experiencing downloading issues on mobile

Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 14951 to insiders in the fast ring, but it appears that mobile devices can’t get it due to a bug that freezes the download process.

Users who posted in this discussion on the Microsoft Community forums explain that their devices are not progressing past 0 percent when the download process starts, no matter how long they wait.

Microsoft has already acknowledged the problem and said that, while it’s investigating, users should try charging their devices to 100 percent.

“We've just launched build 14951 to the Fast ring today and we're seeing reports from users staying their device is not progressing past ‘0% downloading’ on the update screen. We encourage Windows Insiders to file feedback or upvote feedback from others.  We've started digging through the logs we have already received to investigate the issue. Stay tuned to this thread for additional details.  We'll post updates as information becomes available,” a Microsoft support engineer said.

“In reviewing device logs from feedback submissions, some devices are needing to be plugged in.  As an interim step, please plug your device into a charger and allow it to fully charge if it is not,” he later added.

Happening on all phone models

For the moment, it looks like the issue is not related to phone models, as both old and new Lumia models are hit with the same problem, including Lumia 930, 830, 950, and 950 XL. The same downloading issue is experienced on both Wi-Fi and cellular data.

Windows 10 build 14951 comes with an updated camera interface on both PC and mobile, including a new zoom slider, redesigned capture buttons, new toggle control for the timer, and faster access to settings.

Additionally, mobile users are also getting two more fixes, one of which concerns French keyboards to align with punctuation rules and another one that fixes an issue causing the Camera shutter sounds entry to be listed as missing.
