14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has recently released Windows 10 build 14931 to users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program, as the company managed to fix more bugs and make it a little bit more stable and reliable.
Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, announced the release on Twitter, explaining that build 14931 comes for slow ring insiders with several fixes, including two very important ones.
Windows 10 build 14931 bugfixes
First and foremost, there’s a bugfix for those who were using Narrator and Groove Music, which were both impacted by a known issue that Microsoft acknowledged when it rolled out this build to fast ring insiders.
“While using Narrator and Groove Music, if you navigate to the progress bar while a song is playing then Narrator will continually speak the progress of the song e.g. update with the current time of the progress bar every second. The result is you will be unable to listen to the song or hear any other control you navigate to,” the firm said about the bug, adding that it’s now fixed and nobody should experience it.
Additionally, the slow ring update also includes a fix that addresses keyboard issues in the Settings app, as Microsoft said that the original release made it impossible to use the Tab key to navigate through settings, so users had to turn to arrow keys to browse menus. With today’s release, however, everything should be back to normal.
Microsoft hasn’t released a new build for fast ring insiders, as the team is fully focused on getting feedback from slow ring insiders, but depending on how this goes, more good news in this regard could be provided today.
No matter when it lands, the next build won’t bring too many changes, as the focus continues to be on fixing bugs and improving OneCore before the company starts shipping more substantial improvements planned for Redstone 2.
