Work on the upcoming Windows 10 Anniversary Update is advancing nicely, and the latest few builds have proven quite fast and stable, so Microsoft has made them available for all rings that are part of the Insider program.

Consequently, the software giant has also released new ISO images today, so those who want to perform a clean install can now do it without additional tweaking of ESD update files.

The newest ISOs are of build 14342, which was released to the fast ring on May 10 and then made available for slow ring testers on May 18.

This is one of the biggest insider releases part of the RS1 branch so far, and it comes with a huge number of improvements, including better support for Edge extensions, swipe navigation support in Microsoft Edge browser, better Windows Ink support, Action Center overhauls, and apps for websites.

One of the most stable builds so far

Build 14342 is also one of the first versions that provide slow ring insiders with access to Edge extensions and other big features coming in the Anniversary Update, and feedback has so far been quite positive.

Many praised its performance and claimed the number of bugs was extremely small, and this is probably one of the main reasons Microsoft decided to release it to slow ring users too.

The new ISOs are specifically aimed at insiders or new testers who want to clean-install this build, thus getting all these improvements without going through the pain of Windows Update and jumping from one build to another.

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is projected to launch in the summer for PC and mobile devices and will bring a long list of improvements, including Edge browser extensions, a new Start menu design, Cortana updates, and several new features for built-in apps.

Insiders will very likely get the final build of the Anniversary Update first while everyone else should receive it in July. The "RTM" version is expected to be 1607, thus hinting at a public release in July.
