Windows 10 build 10537 got leaked yesterday, but as we’ve told you before, Microsoft partners are already testing a newer version of the operating system, and information that reached the web a few minutes ago comes to confirm this.

Russian leaker WZor, who has a really good track on Windows leaks, has posted the official release notes for Windows 10 build 10540, which Microsoft sends to partners and testers whenever it ships a new version of the operating system.

This is proof that Microsoft has indeed compiled an even newer build of Windows 10, and thanks to these release notes, we can also see newly introduced features.

There is only one breaking change in this update, namely jump lists of Windows Store apps.

“You can now build jump lists for Windows Store apps (immersive apps). Note that the jump list content will now also be available from tiles in Start and the All apps list, in addition to the taskbar and the Most Used list in Start,” Microsoft explains.

Plenty of bug fixes

Additionally, Microsoft has focused a lot on bug fixing, so build 10540 comes with many improvements in this regard. For instance, the company repaired audio, graphics, media, and recovery issues that didn’t work as expected in the previous builds.

Just as it happens with every single build, there are some known issues too, so users who decide to install 10540 should have a look at these first.

There’s still no word yet on whether Microsoft plans to release Windows 10 build 10540 to insiders, but it’s pretty clear that a new version for PCs is in the pipeline. This week is mostly about the mobile version, so maybe next week is a better moment for the company to come up with a new PC build. In the meantime, expect more such leaks to take place in the coming days.
