14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 build 10162 was officially released by Microsoft last week, but it turns out that the company has readied another version of the preview that has recently been sent to partners for testing.
Russian leaker WZor has posted a batch of screenshots with Windows 10 build 10163 online, confirming that partners have indeed been provided with a new version, but as you can see for yourselves in the photo gallery below, little has changed in this build.
What’s interesting is that Microsoft has added some new protection systems to this build, and WZor says that leaking it is pretty much impossible right now because this way the Redmond-based tech giant could easily find out who did it.
Build 10162 for slow ring
While build 10163 is very unlikely to be released to users, Microsoft is working to make build 10162 available for slow rings insiders, which, according to sources, should happen as soon as this week.
Together with this new build for the slow channel, Microsoft is also projected to release new ISOs that would allow for clean installs, thus making it easier for new users to join the program and get straight to the very latest version. Otherwise, everyone would have to use the latest ISOs, namely those for build 10130, and then upgrade to each single version until they reach 10162.
Windows 10 is projected to launch on July 29, and Microsoft might not release any other build until then because the way build 10162 works is pretty satisfying. This is the most stable and reliable version of Windows 10 preview so far, the company says, which could be a sign that this might be the latest build before RTM.
On July 29, insiders will be allowed to choose between continuing with the testing program and opting out of it, thus sticking to RTM and starting to use a fully stable version of the operating system, without getting pre-release software anymore.
