Here's what's new in this new build for insiders

Windows 10 build 10162 was officially released by Microsoft a few hours ago, and everyone can download it right away either via Windows Update or with the new ISOs that allow a clean install.

Despite the fact that this new build is only supposed to be used by fast ring insiders, new ISOs are also available, in anticipation of a release for slow ring users sometime next week.

Microsoft says that build 10162 is the most stable and reliable Windows 10 version to date, and it certainly feel so, especially on devices with old hardware, where it's pretty clear that the new operating system comes with plenty of improvements for greater performance.

No less than 300 bugs were fixed between 10158 and 10159, so it's safe to assume that even more were squashed before 10162 was officially released to users.

No major feature changes

As you can see in the photo gallery after the jump, the new build looks and feels the same as its predecessors, despite the fact that a noticeable performance improvement is being offered.

Microsoft says that some battery life enhancements were also included, but for the moment, we can't tell for sure if any change can be noticed because more time for testing is needed.

But Microsoft Edge is definitely becoming a more mature browser, and the application not only loads faster but also makes the web feel this way too, as websites appear to load almost instantly with a fast Internet connection.

The Start menu also runs flawlessly in this build, after months of issues for some users who continuously complained that it randomly fails to open when clicking the Start button.

Overall, Windows 10 is coming together nicely, and that's a good thing because we're only a few weeks away from the big launch on July 29. Some new builds could come out until then, so get your PCs prepared for more updates.
