New build shipped to insiders in the Skip Ahead ring

Microsoft has recently released a new preview build for insiders in the Skip Ahead ring.

Windows 10 build 18850 is an early release of the April 2020 feature update and is part of the 20H1 development branch, as Microsoft says that it needs more time to test some of the features that it wants to be part of this update.

Since we’re still in the very first days of Windows 10 April 2020 Update, there’s not much you’ll get in this build, as Microsoft is still working on paving the way for more breaking changes.

For example, there are several general changes, improvements, and fixes for PC, and Microsoft explains that it resolved an issue causing the Microsoft Word web tile pinned to Start to launch Microsoft Edge in inPrivate mode. Additionally, the company also resolved a bug causing the browser to crash when editing or tabbing through PDFs.

New Snip & Sketch update

The software giant explains that this build comes with improvements for applications that can adjust the color of the screen.

“If you use third party apps to adjust the color of your screen, we’ve made a fix with this build to address feedback that certain apps were no longer working. We’re continuing to investigate feedback in this space,” the company says.

Alongside this new build, Microsoft is also introducing a new update for Snip & Sketch, as the company corrected a number of problems in the apps, such as some screenshots getting blurry after saving or copying to clipboard. This new version, however, can also be downloaded without actually installing the latest Skip Ahead ring, as it’s available from the Microsoft Store for all insiders.

You can check out the full changelog of this build in the box after the jump and head over to Windows Update to get it if you’re part of the Skip Ahead ring.
