As we’ve told you earlier today, Microsoft has released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 build 14393, which brings it to 14393.3 and one step closer to the public release due on August 2.

Windows 10 build 14393 is the RTM version of the Anniversary Update, so today’s cumulative update comes to fix the remaining issues before retail users start getting the final bits too.

A post in the Feedback Hub on PCs running insider builds reveals what’s new in this new cumulative update, and as we’ve already told you, it’s all about bug fixing.

This kind of makes sense, given the fact that Microsoft is working to refine performance and fix the remaining bugs ahead of the public launch, so new features would only be provided once work on the second wave of the Redstone update starts after the release of the Anniversary Update on August 2.

It’s all about bug fixes

According to the official changelog (which you can read in full in the table at the end of the article), this new version of the Windows 10 build 14393 corrects an issue causing the keyboard to not rotate correctly on some Windows tablets, but also a problem that delayed Windows updates on systems with Connected Standby.

Users experiencing Store app issues are getting a patch too, with Microsoft explaining that, in some cases, apps failed to launch because of a licensing issue. Additionally, there’s a fix for bugs impacting text input with Korean Input Method Editor in some apps, as well as a patch for apps that synchronize using DDE for inter-process communication, which Microsoft says should work correctly now.

This update is only available for insiders in the fast ring and can be downloaded on PC and mobile via Windows Update. There’s still no changelog for mobile devices, though.
