He thought licensing issues had been solved before he released the track

will.i.am has admitted he is a thief but he insists he wasn’t even aware that what he was doing was illegal. Check out the video above to see what the fuss is all about.

A few days ago, house producer Arty sued will.i.am for his collaboration with Chris Brown “Let’s Go,” which he said was a shameless rip-off of his own and Mat Zo’s “Rebound.”

The side-by-side comparison confirms that several samples are used in both tracks.

Speaking with KIIS FM, will.i.am admits to the obvious (via TMZ), but insists he had no idea Arty had not signed off on it.

“I'm a fan of Arty. I think he's great and the world needs to know about how talented those guys are. It's sad that it's turned into a fiasco but hopefully it's resolved because I'm a fan of those guys to the point where I wrote to their instrumental,” he says.

He also explains that his people are now working to have the lawsuit dropped and all licensing issues taken care of.

Why he didn’t do that the first time the house producer contacted him – because I can’t imagine Arty sued before he tried to let will.i.am know he was ripping him off – is beyond me.
