WhatsApp Messenger for iOS gets a new update

As you might know, the WhatsApp Web service was launched earlier this year, made available only for the Google Chrome web browser and Android devices at the point in time.

Many weeks after the initial launch of the WhatsApp for Web project, a handy tool that lets users chat with their friends via a web browser on their personal computers, was made available for more web browsers and mobile platforms, including Windows Phone, Blackberry, Nokia S40 and S60 phones, as well as Mozilla Firefox and Opera browsers.

WhatsApp, which is currently the world's largest messaging platform, stated at that point in time that it could not bring its WhatsApp Web service to iPhone users because of some limitations of Apple's iOS mobile operating system. But now the wait is finally over, as WhatsApp Web is (finally) rolling out to iPhone users as we speak.

Here's how to enable WhatsApp Web for iPhone

To enable it, you will have to first update the WhatsApp Messenger for iOS app on your iPhone, so open up the App Store app, go to Updates and see if there's an update to WhatsApp. Apply the update, and then open the WhatsApp, go to Settings, tap on the new WhatsApp Web entry and scan the QR code displayed on the web.whatsapp.com website.

That's it! You can now (finally) use WhatsApp from your laptop or desktop computer if you're an iPhone user. Unfortunately, at the moment of writing this article, the updated WhatsApp Messenger for iOS app is not available worldwide, so you should check for an update in the next few hours as the service is rolling out slowly. For non-believers, the WhatsApp Web website now shows instructions for iPhone users.
