Microsoft has rolled out a new batch of cumulative updates earlier today, and naturally, the Creators Update is one of the versions of Windows 10 that are getting their own patch.

The update aimed at the Windows 10 Creators Update is KB4048954 and it bumps OS version to 15063.726 and 15063.728, bringing both security and non-security fixes.

First and foremost, it’s important to note that this cumulative update address an issue experienced after an OS upgrade that causes setting an offline schedule in Control Panel’s Sync Center applet to fail. Microsoft acknowledges that some users are getting error "Sync Center Error. An error occurred displaying sync schedules. Error: 0x80070005. Access Denied,” and this update fixes the whole thing.

Security fixes

The software giant says there’s also a fix for a problem introduced by cumulative update KB4038788 and which pushed systems to a black screen. Users were forced to reboot the system to get back to the desktop and abandon the install of the cumulative update.

There are also several fixes for critical Windows components, including for Internet Explorer, with Microsoft saying that it was aware of a bug that caused the browser to handle an intranet site as an Internet website.

Microsoft Edge is also getting patched for a memory leak caused by the startup of an internal process, but also receives some tweaks to refine scrolling, which sometimes caused the browser to hang.

There are obviously plenty of security updates since it lands on Patch Tuesday, including for Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Windows kernel, Windows Media Player and others. You can check out the full change log in the box after the jump and proceed with the install as soon as possible.

We’ve already installed this cumulative update on two Windows 10 devices and it completed successfully. At the time of writing this article, we are not aware of any issue experienced when installing the update.
