Microsoft released new cumulative updates for Windows 10 today, and the Creators Update is one of the versions that are being targeted with today’s rollout.

Unsurprisingly, the change log is huge, but what’s worth mentioning from the very beginning is that installing cumulative update KB4041676 on the Creators Update bumps version number to 15063.674.

Since the cumulative update is released on Patch Tuesday, it makes sense to expect patches aimed at vulnerabilities found in Windows and other Microsoft tech, so KB4041676 brings security updates to Windows Search Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, the Graphics Component, Internet Explorer, Windows Subsystem for Linux, and other solutions that you can see in the full changelog below.

There are also tons of bug fixes and one of them concerns universal apps and Centennial apps which previously showed a gray icon and displayed a message reading “This app can’t open.” After installing this cumulative update, you should no longer experience this bug, Microsoft promises.

Internet Explorer bug fixes

If you still rely on Internet Explorer for your browsing needs, KB4041676 brings plenty of goodies for you, including fixes for rendering of graphic elements and for issues impact docking and undocking of browser windows, pop-up windows, and elements that were prevented from receiving focus.

For gamers, there’s one particular issue which Microsoft says has been fixed and which should enhance the download experience with new games.

“Addressed issue that affects the download of some games from the Microsoft Store during the pre-order phase. Download fails with the error code 0x80070005, and the device attempts to restart the download from the beginning,” Microsoft says in the official release notes.

We have already installed this cumulative update on several systems here at Softpedia and the process completely flawlessly, but again, we’ve never experienced any issues with previous updates. We’ll continue to monitor reports from our readers as more install the new cumulative update and let you know should they come across installation bugs.
