Microsoft has released new cumulative updates today, including one for systems that have already been updated to the Creators Update released earlier this year.

The Windows 10 Creators Update rollout started in April, but as Microsoft explained, it takes place in stages, which means that users are gradually receiving it on their devices. By this point, however, most users have already installed the Creators Update, with stats showing that adoption of version 1703 is growing at a fast pace.

Today’s cumulative update for these systems is KB4022725 and it bumps OS version to 15063.413 and 15063.414. Just like the other cumulative updates published today, the focus is on security improvements, though there are also some other changes worth having a look at.

What’s new in this cumulative update

For example, KB4022725 fixes an issue forcing users to press the space bar to dismiss the lock screen. This was a bug that was experienced on some systems here at Softpedia, and we can confirm that things are returning to normal after installing this update.

There are also changes impacting Cortana, with Microsoft saying that there was a bug preventing cross-device notification reply to work correctly. After installing KB4022725, everything should be fine.

There are also fixes for Internet Explorer, as the browser ignored the policy called “Send all sites not included in the Enterprise Mode Site List to Microsoft Edge.” And IE is also getting another bug fix for time-zone information.

There are plenty of security fixes in this update, including for Windows Kernel, Windows PDF, Device Guard, Internet Explorer, Windows Shell, and Microsoft Edge.

Installing this cumulative update requires a system reboot, so you need to save your work before everything else. We aren’t aware of any bugs at the time of publishing this article, but as with any cumulative update, it remains to be seen if everything’s working correctly.
