Microsoft has rolled out new cumulative updates as part of its monthly Patch Tuesday cycle, and those running Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) need to install KB3206632.

Just like is the case with all the other cumulative updates released by Microsoft for Windows 10 users, there are no new features in here, only fixes and performance improvements, but it’s still critical for everyone to install it as soon as possible.

First and foremost, KB3206632 pushes OS version number to 14383.576, and this is how you can easily determine if a specific PC already installed the latest cumulative update or not.

According to the official changelog, which you can read in full in the box at the end of the article, KB3206632 includes security updates for Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Uniscribe, Common Log File System Driver - this cumulative update is included in the Patch Tuesday rollout, so it makes sense to bring several security fixes for Windows 10 users.

Bug fixes

Additionally, it also corrects a number of other bugs, including one causing app compatibility issues and updated time zone information in Internet Explorer.

Microsoft says that with this update, it also fixes an issue “where Azure Active Directory-joined machines after upgrading to Windows 10 Version 1607 cannot sync with Exchange,” as well as a bug causing “Devices left with Hello on for an excessive amount of time will not go into power savings mode.”

Keep in mind that this particular update is exclusively available for systems running the Anniversary Update, but PCs powered by Windows 10 1511 and RTM (the original version) have their own cumulative updates.

As is the case with the other CUs, a system reboot will be required to complete installation. At the time of writing this article, we are not aware of any installation issues, but we’ll be keeping an eye out on reports and will let you know if anything bad happens with this update.
