Microsoft has just rolled out new cumulative updates for Windows 10, and the Creators Update is one of the versions that are getting patched as part of this new release.

Systems running Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) receive KB4016871 both on Windows Update and on the Update Catalog, with security fixes and other improvements included.

First and foremost, this new cumulative update bumps OS version to 15063.296 and 15063.297 and replaces the previously-released update KB4016240.

What’s new in cumulative update KB4016871?

According to the official changelog, which you can also check out in the comment box after the jump, this cumulative update comes with a fix for Surface Hub issues causing devices to wake from sleep approximately every four minutes after the first two hours. This is a weird bug and several Hubs were impacted, so users are recommended to install this cumulative update as soon as possible.

Furthermore, Microsoft says that it managed to repair a bug in Microsoft Edge where users in networking environments not supporting the TCP Fast Open standard may have problems connecting to some websites. Redmond adds that users can re-enable TCP Fast Open in about:flags, so make sure you do this after installing the update.

Then, there’s a bug fix for that issue where autochk.exe can randomly skip drive checks and not fix corruptions, which may lead to data loss, as well as a patch for Arc Touch mouse Bluetooth connectivity issue.

The Bluetooth problems were experienced by several users after installing the Creators Update, but it’s not yet known whether all Bluetooth connectivity problems are addressed or the Arc Touch is the only mouse getting improvements.

And last but not least, there are security updates for many pre-installed Windows 10 apps, including Edge, Internet Explorer, and modules like the Windows Kernel, the .NET Framework, and the Microsoft Graphics component.

A computer reboot is required to complete the install and at the time of writing this article there are no known issues just yet.
