Find out if Microsoft's phone can withstand a powerful hit

Microsoft tried to make the Lumia 950 a monster, but only as far as performance is concerned, as the company wanted the phone to run everything smoothly without any lag or slowdown.

And Redmond has more or less managed to do it, but when it comes to the other “monster” side that concerns the phone's durability, little has been said since its launch.

But thanks to a video posted on YouTube by Battery Super Saver, we can finally find out whether the Lumia 950 can withstand a severe hit with a hammer or not (we could have found the answer to this question a lot sooner, but watching our very own Lumia phones put to the test can be very painful).

The drop test

While we're not going to give you any spoilers because the video is really worth watching, there's something that needs to be mentioned.

Old Lumia devices bearing the Nokia logo were really, really durable and could withstand very severe hits, and the plethora of tests that people across the world performed were living proof in this regard. We've seen Lumia phones being thrown out of the bus, put in the oven, or simply smashed to the floor, but in most of these cases, these devices actually survived and they did it in style.

The Lumia 950 is in essence a successor to these phones, but it's still hard to predict whether it has the same strength or not. And it's nearly impossible to give a verdict just by looking at it, so this drop/hammer/car test can really help us figure out how tough the new Lumia actually is.

Before hitting the play button, make sure you shut down your Lumia and leave it in the other room. You wouldn't want your phone to see what's happening to a fellow 950.
