The iPhone X craze starts in Singapore ahead of launch

It’s been a while since we’ve seen hundreds of people lining up in front of Apple Stores to buy an iPhone, but it looks like the anniversary iPhone X has the customer appeal to once again create chaos across the world.

As we’ve reported to you earlier today, Apple fanboys have already formed lines in front of Apple Stores, and a new report from Singapore shows just how wild the crowd can get when the registration process starts.

Basically, each Apple Store has a limited stock of the iPhone X, meaning that regardless of the number of people camping outside the store, only the first of them will get the device as supplies last. To make sure that nobody leaves disappointed, Apple Store staff performs a registration process before opening the doors to let customers step inside and buy an iPhone X, so whoever is there first has bigger chances to secure the device.

Limited stock

As you can see in these videos posted on Facebook by Channel New Asia, the Apple Store staff really has a hard time dealing with the crowd, as several hundreds of people (and counting!) join the chaos.

Of course, not everyone is buying an iPhone X to actually is, as there are lots of people queuing in front of the Apple Store just to get the device and then resell it online for double its price. This is a neat way to earn some profit, especially given the constrained stock that Apple has prepared for the launch.

Apple said that each store would have a stock of the iPhone X for walk-in customers, but given how many people seem to be interested in buying the device, it’s all going to be a challenge to get one.

And for what it’s worth, the iPhone X is not at all cheap. Pricing starts at $999 for the base model and the more expensive version costs $1,149. It’s impressive how far so many people are willing to go to spend that much on an iPhone.
