14 DAY TRIAL // Developer Pixel Toy and Games Workshop have just announced yet another mobile game in the Warhammer 40k universe, which will make its debut on Android and iOS platforms this autumn.
Dubbed Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, the game is a tap shooter with exclusive content for touchscreen devices.
“Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade signals a real step-change for Pixel Toys. We started Pixel Toys three years ago with a passion to use our console background to create the most exciting, visually intensive, high impact action titles for touch screen devices.
“With Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade we aim to deliver the rich, detailed and authentic mobile game that Warhammer fans deserve,” said Andy Wafer, co-founder of Pixel Toys.
The first Warhammer game that allows players to control an Imperial Knight
According to the developers, the game will be the first Warhammer title that will allow players to take command of an Imperial Knight, a colossal armored war mech.
Furthermore, Pixel Toy promises an intense 3rd-person tap shooter gameplay experience spread along more than 40 missions included in the game's campaign.
Players will be able to customize and equip their Imperial Knight to make it unstoppable. Developers also claim that Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade features a versatile loot and crafting system, as players will be able to forge, upgrade and customize their Imperial Knight as the campaign progresses.
No exact release date for Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade has been announced yet, but developers have confirmed that the game will be compatible with both smartphones and tablets.
“We’ve recreated the 40k universe in intricate detail, authentically modelling each individual component and bringing it to life on a grand scale - fighting in close-up combat, complete with dramatic environmental destruction. Freeblade’s blockbuster visuals are coupled with mobile-appropriate gameplay and a control system that delivers intuitive yet precise control of the Imperial Knight’s weapon systems,” concluded Wafer.
