After teasing us with the upcoming release of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III port for Linux, SteamOS, and macOS operating systems, Feral Interactive announced today the system requirements for all supported platforms.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III is a superb game with astonishing graphics and effects, so you might guess that you'll need a powerful gaming rig to really enjoy the game, which is created by Relic Entertainment and Sega in partnership with Games Workshop and ported by Feral Interactive to Linux and macOS.

On Linux, the real-time strategy (RTS) video game we'll require a computer with at least a 3.4GHz Intel i3-4130 processor and 8GB RAM, running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) with Nvidia 650Ti graphics cards that have 1GB of VRAM. Unfortunately, AMD Radeon and Intel GPUs are not supported on the OpenGL version.

However, to truly enjoy all the gorgeous effects of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III game, Feral Interactive recommends gamers to have a PC with a 3.4GHz Intel i7-4770 processor and 8GB RAM, running Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) and an Nvidia 980Ti graphics card with 4GB of VRAM.

Here are the system requirements for playing the game on Macs

On the other hand, macOS gamers need a computer with at least a 2.0GHz Intel i5 processor and 8GB RAM, running macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or higher with either Nvidia, AMD Radeon, or Intel graphics cards. Supported Macs include most 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs, as well as all MacBook Pro computers released since late 2013.

Feral Interactive informs Mac users that the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III game is also supported on all 13-inch and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro computers released in 2016 and mid-2012, respectively. Detailed system requirements for Mac gamers will be provided tomorrow when the game launches officially.

Experimental Vulkan support is provided for AMD Radeon and Intel GPUs

If you're a Linux gamer with either an AMD Radeon or Intel graphics card, all hope is not lost because Feral Interactive informs Linux and SteamOS users that experimental Vulkan support is available for playing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, which requires Mesa 17.1 for AMD GPUs and Mesa 17.2-dev for Intel GPUs.

Again, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III will be released tomorrow, June 8, 2017, for Linux, SteamOS, and macOS operating systems. If you already own the game, it will automatically appear on your Linux or Mac library after the launch, which should happen at noon UK time. Stay tuned right here on Softpedia Linux for the lunch!
