14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Legendary Pictures working on the Warcraft movie is ready to deliver a first set of posters associated with the coming title at the San Diego Comic Con, showing fans of the universe how two of the main characters will look.
The images depict both Lothar, one of the leaders of the Kingdom of Azeroth and a mighty warrior, and Durotan, the leader of the Frostwold Clan.
Travis Fimmel plays the first character while Toby Kebbel is portraying the second one, and the two posters look truly impressive, with plenty of details and a look that reflects the video game without copying it altogether.
The reveal of the two images at the San Diego Comic Con is designed to signal that the Warcraft-themed movie is at the moment pretty much complete, with Duncan Jones, the director, saying that just a small number of special effects shots need to be finished.
Apparently, the quality of the product is high enough that Blizzard is already working with Legendary Pictures to explore the stories that would be told if it spawns a trilogy.
The Warcraft movie is slated to be released in theaters at some point in early 2016.
Video game-based films do not have a great track history, but Blizzard was involved in the development process, and it seems that the production company has given the director a lot of resources to realize his vision.
World of Warcraft continues to attract players
Blizzard has not announced plans to link its video games with the launch of the movie in any way.
World of Warcraft is at the moment the most successful MMO that still uses a subscription model, although the number of people who are paying for it every month tends to be decreasing quarter after quarter.
The development team has not yet announced plans to deliver a new expansion, although one might be revealed during the BlizzCon event later in the year.
World of Warcraft recently received a new patch, 6.2, which introduces a new area for gamers to explore and also gives them a chance to fly through the world, as long as they manage to gain a special achievement and get a special mount.
