There is no more bad blood between them after 2009 moment

In 2009, Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Video of the Year at the MTV MVAs, telling her that he would let her finish eventually “but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!” That moment is now known as the “Imma let you finish” moment, while the practice of interrupting someone during a speech is called pulling a Kanye.

The faux-pas nearly cost Kanye his career, while considerably boosting Taylor’s, and they would spend many years after not even trying to mend things. They finally shook hands and moved past it last year, after Jay Z pretty much forced them into talking to one another at the Grammys.

Obviously, Taylor and Kanye are buds now, and MTV banked on it last night at the 2015 edition of the VMAs, which saw Taylor scoop the most awards and Kanye walk home as the receiver of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.

MTV even asked Taylor to present Kanye with the Moonman, and she didn’t miss the chance to steal a bit of his thunder. This time, though, it was friendly banter.

As you can see in the second Vine below, during one of Taylor’s speeches, Kanye pretended to get more comfortable and take a nap, so he didn’t mind to be reminded of his “Imma let you finish” line.

The video below is the intro MTV put together for Kanye, with Samuel L. Jackson as narrator. When you watch this video, it almost makes sense knowing that the same guy Jackson is talking about announced he’d be running for President in 2020. Almost.
