We've been informed by Vivaldi's Ruarí Ødegaard about the availability of a new snapshot build of the proprietary Vivaldi web browser for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

Vivaldi Snapshot 1.2.470.11 is now live for those who want to get an early taste of what's coming in the next stable update of the cross-platform web browser, which it looks like it gets a lot of attention lately, especially from those who want to migrate from Chromium-based browsers like Google Chrome or Opera. And today's snapshot introduces editable mouse gestures.

"Yet again we introduce quite a few of improvements, so let’s dive in without too much ado. First, we’d like to discuss gestures, the ability to issue commands with help of drawn shapes," said Miky Vacík in the announcement. "With some of you excited and some of you disappointed by lack of flexibility, we hope to address both groups by expanding the feature by recordable gestures."

Vivaldi aims to be the web browser for power users

The Vivaldi project has been created with a single goal in mind, to offer power users the web browser they've always wanted, and with every new snapshot or stable build it get more and more goodies. Below, we've attached a gif image so you can see the brand-new mouse gesture mapping feature in action, which promises to let you create new command gestures, as well as to edit or remove existing ones.

Of course, there are numerous other improvements and bug fixes implemented in today's release of Vivaldi Snapshot 1.2.470.11, especially for tabs, and we recommend checking out the full changelog attached at the end of the article if you want to know what exactly has been changed. In the meantime, you can download Vivaldi Snapshot 1.2.470.11 for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now via our website.
