14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, we reported on the release of the first maintenance version of the stable Vivaldi 1.0 web browser, build 1.1, which has been rebased on the Chromium 50 open-source project.
We've been informed by Vivaldi's Ruarí Ødegaard that Vivaldi 1.1.453.52-1 stable update is now available for all platforms, bringing the latest security fixes from upstream, which means that the web browser has been upgraded to Chromium 50.0.2661.94.
Additionally, it looks like some recent issues reported by users have been addressed as well. These include support for installing the Vivaldi 1.1 web browser on the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) operating system, as well as the ability to easily check the security of a domain through the URL badge, which was added in the developer tools panel.
"Today we released a minor update to Vivaldi 1.1. We now provide more detailed security information in developer tools, updated our Chromium engine with security updates from upstream and fixed an issue with Vivaldi failing to install on Ubuntu 12.04," said Ruarí Ødegaard, Linux QA and Testing at Vivaldi.
Vivaldi 1.1 build 453.52-1 update now live for all users
While Linux users can easily update to Vivaldi 1.1.453.52-1 via the built-in package manager of their distribution, Windows and Mac users will receive the Vivaldi 1.1 build 453.52-1 update via the built-in autoupdate system, so you don't have do download any binaries at this point.
