A new version of VirtualBox is now available for download, bringing full support for Windows 10, as a number of users reported issues when trying to use the software either on the RTM version or on build 10532, which was released to insiders last month.

A look at the official changelog for this new release confirms that Oracle has indeed included several improvements aimed at Windows 10 PCs, among which “fixes for Windows 10 build 10525 and later.”

But according to users who already tried to install previous versions of VirtualBox on Windows 10, the application failed to work correctly, and in many cases, it even failed to launch at all, so it’s pretty clear that updating to version 5.0.4 is critical to everyone.

Bridged networking also improved

Some readers have also confirmed that, in Windows 10, working with bridged connections in VirtualBox was previously impossible because of a bug that caused the application to fail to detect network adapters.

Version 5.0.4 fixes this bug too, as well as a network adapter enumeration in Windows 10, plus an issue with Windows 10 guest kernel debugging over the network for Hyper-V paravirtualized VMs, according to the change log that comes with this release.

VirtualBox is one of the top software solutions on the market that let you create and manage virtual machines, and for many users who want to see what is new in every Windows 10 build without actually installing the operating system on their main hard drive, but in a secure container on their computer, this application is the best choice.

Obviously, such updates come in really handy for the testing program of Windows 10 as well, so it’s good to see that software developers work fast to fix problems that have an impact on Microsoft’s new OS.

Overall, this is the version you need if you want to run Windows 10 in a virtual machine, so go download VirtualBox 5.0.4 right now.
