Although it's already available on Windows Phone devices too, the bulk of the users comes from Android and iOS, which is probably one of the reasons the Windows Phone version lacks a few features that are already available in the other two.
Anyway, it looks like Viber recently got an update on Android and iOS platforms, which brings a few new features and improvements.
The first thing worth mentioning is the fact that developers have added Group Likes, which means users will be able to “like” messages in group chats and see who likes your vibe.
Also, the update should also add the option to share content with your friends more easily than ever by forwarding Public Chat messages.
Write freely share Public Chats messages
The option to write freely has been implemented too, so Viber users can now write text messages of up to 7,000 characters long.
Developers also confirmed that they have improved the video messaging experience with new features, but no additional details have been given yet.
All these new features and improvements are available on both Android and iOS platforms. However, there's one new feature that was only implemented into the Android version of Viber, and which makes sense.
It looks like Public Chats are finally available on Android tablets. Up until recently, this feature was only available on Android smartphones, so developers have decided to rectify this issue.
You can now download Viber for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
