InfoSonics Corporation, a leading distributor and provider of wireless handsets and accessories in Latin America and the United States, announced that the verykool i405 mobile phone started shipping to distributors in Central America, with more areas to follow later on. The handset is part of the verykool line of mobile phones owned by InfoSonics and announced back in March this year.

"The i405 is the sixth in a line-up of verykool products aimed at providing current and potential carrier customers with unique, feature-rich handsets," said Joseph Ram, President and Chief Executive Officer at InfoSonics. "Initial shipments of this product will be going to Central America, where initial feedback from the other products in our verykool line up has been positive. The verykool product line is a key component of our strategy to drive revenue growth and gross margin expansion."

The new verykool i405 is a slim mobile phone coming in a clamshell form factor. It's a feature-rich, quad-band handset that offers a 1.5 inch LCD color main display and a 0.95 inch black & white sub display, a VGA camera and AM/FM radio features. The phone measures 93 x 48 x 16.9 mm when closed, weighs 90 grams and looks a lot like the verykool i400 model.

With a full charged battery, verykool i405 can provide up to 5 hours of talk time or 400 hours of standby time. The phone supports Bluetooth connectivity, has USB client, a WAP browser, polyphonic ring tones, Sim Tool Kit (STK) and text input predictive software.

Although verykool i405 will hit the Central American market pretty soon, there is no info about the exact date or about how much does it costs. But since it's not a fancy device and it's targeted towards simple users, we should expect it to retail at an affordable price.
