It's been a while since we last heard anything from Guild Software, the developer of the Vendetta Online 3D space combat MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) for PCs and mobile platforms.

The Vendetta Online 1.8.380 update was released a few days ago, and it promises lots of goodies, but only for PC platforms, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. The rest of the supported platforms, such as Android and iOS, will get the new features in a future update.

"There are a lot of changes in this update, far more than one might realize from the changelog," reads the announcement. "Patches for other platforms will be coming, but are delayed a little so we don't have to test and monitor every possible version and device during this relatively significant update."

What's new in Vendetta Online 1.8.380

Release highlights of Vendetta Online 1.8.380 include a new skin for the user interface, called "Platinum," which was enabled by default for all supported operating systems, and a new option that lets players use first-person jump, launch and warp animations (Options -> Game -> Cinematic Camera Mode).

Moreover, new head-based flight models were added for VR (Virtual Reality), the HUD Notification's legibility was improved with the implementation of a shadow behind it, there's now a Y-B gamepad chord for opening the jettison menu by default, and new user-selectable fonts were added under Options -> Interface -> Font.

After applying the Vendetta Online 1.8.380 update, you'll also notice that there's a new default font, called "Play-Bold." Other than that, the head-on visibility of the blinking docking bay arrows was improved by angling them inwards, and the "Activate" button will continue certain mission where there's only the "Continue" button available.

We recommend all users to update to Vendetta Online 1.8.380 as soon as possible. Guild Software promises more bugfix releases in the near future, as they are going through a major codebase change right now, so gameplay tweaks and more new features are coming after that stabilizes. New users need to visit the official website to get started with Vendetta Online.
