Guild Software announced this past weekend the immediate availability of a new maintenance release of their popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Vendetta Online, for all supported platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, and iOS.

According to the release notes, it appears that Vendetta Online 1.8.345 is a quite small maintenance release that removes the deprecated, older method that has been used until now for creating accounts from within the game's client.

Additionally, the new point release includes various under-the-hood improvements for making it possible to migrate the server in the near future, and fixes some annoying issues reported by users with the new GL4 renderer when running the game on the Mac OS X platform.

"Not the most exciting update, but we've been really busy with a couple of tasks. [...] To our non-Mac users: please have patience. The lack of content updates in the meantime is not that fun, but we really need to squash these kinds of major bugs (across all platforms and versions) prior to the 1.9 release," reads the announcement for Vendetta Online 1.8.345.

Vendetta Online 1.9 is in the works

As reported in the announcement of the previous maintenance release of Vendetta Online, the development team is hard at work these days preparing the final bits of the next major version of the game, the 1.9 series. Therefore, they are also preparing a major server migration in the coming days, which should also improve the game's infrastructure.

As usual, those of you who already have the Vendetta Online client install can update right now from within the game. The rest of you can download the installer for Vendetta Online 1.8.345 for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems right now via Softpedia or from the project's website.
