Lots of important games have been discounted

Valve is now organizing a SteamOS sale, and it looks like users will be able to pick up quite a few triple-A titles with Linux support in the next few days.

It's been a while since their previous SteamOS sale, but we're getting close to the launch of Steam Machines, which is scheduled for November. Valve wants to make sure that people see all the good games with Linux support that are available right now, and what better way to do that than to offer them at a serious discount? To clarify, just because this is marked as a SteamOS sale, it doesn't mean that only Linux users benefit from the sale. All the games are available on multiple platforms, so if you're a Windows or Mac OS user, you can also get these games at the same discounts.

There was no indication that Valve was planning to do a SteamOS sale, as sometimes this kind of information leaks ahead of time. In any case, the promotions for the games are scheduled to end on August 3, which is on Monday, so you'll have all the weekend to decide what you want.

Steam Link and the Steam are also listed

Some of you will notice that both the Steam Link (streaming device) and the new Steam Controller are listed in the sale, but they are not discounted in any way, so you can't really count them as a deal. That's why we won't list them at all.

Here are the games that are available right now, along with their discounts:

- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (50%) - ARK: Survival Evolved (20%) - Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (67%) - Metro Redux Bundle (80%) - Cities: Skylines (33%) - BioShock Infinite (75%) - Super Meat Boy (50%) - Goat Simulator (50%) - Mount & Blade: Warband (66%) - Borderlands 2 Game of the Year (78%) - Dying Light (33%) - Euro Truck Simulator 2 (66%) - Verdun (50%) - STAR WARS Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (25%) - Shank 2 (66%) - TIS-100 (10%) - Football Manager 2015 (66%) - Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition (75%) - 7 Days to Die (50%) - Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition (80%) - Age of Wonders III (75%) - This War of Mine (50%) - Mark of the Ninja (50%) - The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (50%) - Don't Starve (50%) - Garry's Mod (75%) - Outlast (75%) - Plague Inc: Evolved (33%) - Infinifactory (33%) - Breach & Clear: Deadline (33%)
