We reported to you earlier this week about VAIO's first Windows Phone handset that will be revealed today. The smartphone is called Phone Biz and will be released in Japan sometime in April.

According to VAIO, the Phone Biz will be available for purchase for $425 outright. It will sell unlocked, but the Japanese company has already confirmed it will team up with major carrier NTT DoCoMo to offer customers multiple apps and network support.

The price might seem a little bit too high for a Windows Phone handset, but VAIO is well known for overpricing its products, and Phone Biz is no exception.

The good news is VAIO Phone Biz comes with decent specs under the hood, and judging from the press images, it looks pretty stylish.

First of all, the VAIO smartphone won't be made of plastic. Instead, the Japanese company opted for an aluminum finish. The overall build of the phone seems very solid though the bezels below and above the display are quite large.

Mid-range CPU with Continuum for Phones support

Specs-wise, as many of you probably know by now, VAIO Phone Biz will come preloaded with Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box.

On the inside, the smartphone has been confirmed to pack an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Although the chipset inside is of mid-range performance, VAIO confirmed the Phone Biz fully supports Continuum for Phones.

VAIO's smartphone packs 16GB of storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It's also powered by a 2,800 mAh battery.

The Phone Biz sports a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, but there's no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

At the back, the Windows 10 Mobile handset packs a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, whereas at the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

No word yet on whether or not VAIO Phone Biz will be available outside Japan, but we doubt that will happen anytime soon.
