Some of you might remember our last week's report about VAIO's first foray into the Windows Phone ecosystem, Phone Biz. Well, it appears that the smartphone announced by the Japanese company will not be available in the United States.

Windows Phone's market share is so small in the United States that VAIO doesn't seem to think its new Phone Biz handset will make a splash in the country.

The information has been confirmed by VAIO, as the company's representatives replied to a fan's request for a review sample in case the Phone Biz were launched in the US.

According to VAIO, at this time, there are no plans to bring the Phone Biz to the US. We would also like to point out that VAIO Phone Biz might not be available for purchase anywhere else in the world but Japan.

VAIO announced last week that the Phone Biz would make its debut in Japan sometime in April and customers will be able to buy one for no less than $425 outright.

The company even teamed up with major carrier NTT DoCoMo to offer Windows Phone fans multiple apps and network support.

If you want to know what you'll miss by not living in Japan, here is a quick recap of VAIO's Phone Biz smartphone that will ship with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box.

A more than decent mid-range smartphone

First of all, the handset has been confirmed to sport a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Furthermore, the Phone Biz will come equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded via microSD card slot.

At the back, the smartphone packs a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

VAIO Phone Biz will be powered by a 2,800 mAh battery and will offer Continuum for Phone support for those who are looking for this particular feature.
