It seems that Xiaomi is working on a new smartphone to introduce to the market, the Xiaomi Meri, which was spotted on two benchmarking sites and in some images that leaked online. Some specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Meri were revealed in the process.

The Geekbench listing revealed that Xiaomi Meri might come with 3GB of RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. The smartphone has an unlisted chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. The phone scored 758 on the single-core test and 3105 and 3043 on the multi-core test.

The AnTuTu listing reveals additional information on the specs, especially the screen size. The display on Xiaomi Meri might reach 5.5 inches with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

Xiaomi Meri could come with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory

The phone appears to run Mali-T864 graphics processing unit, which means that it could be equipped with the Rockchip SoC that includes four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four other Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone could also come with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

Xiaomi Meri scored 63,581 on AnTuTu, which means that it might belong to the mid-range category of phones.

Images of the device recently leaked online revealing a sleek design and a rectangular home button in the front, possibly housing a fingerprint scanner.

There’s not much information on the handset, but the company could make it available this quarter, possibly at the end of this month. However, that’s just a rumor at this point and should be taken with a grain of salt. Xiaomi Meri will be announced in China and it probably won’t be made available in other countries, but that remains to be seen. Xiaomi is also expected to announce the Mi Note 2 with 6GB of RAM and Snapdragon 820 SoC next month.
