Last week, Nokia 6 had its first flash sale in China, after recording more than 1 million registrations on JD.com. The smartphone sold in under a minute and the online retailer has prepared a second flash sale for January 26.

With just two days left until the second flash sale starts, Nokia 6 has already recorded 1.4 million registrations, meaning that customers are increasingly interested in getting their hands on the new smartphone. Although there is demand for this Android-running Nokia phone, reports from China stated that only 10,000 units were put up for sale last week.

The phone didn’t receive a price hike, and come Thursday, customers will be able to buy the Nokia 6 for the equivalent of $245. The smartphone was launched in China first, as an exclusive to retailer JD.com, but it’s expected to reach other markets in the coming weeks.

Only the black variant is available at this point, but we have seen reports of Nokia preparing to launch a silver version as well. As usual, customers must pay a $9 fee to reserve a unit, but the sum is deducted from the phone’s price upon purchasing the device.

4GB of RAM and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box

Nokia 6 offers satisfactory specs for its $245 price tag, namely a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and 4GB of RAM. It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with an octa-core 1.4GHz CPU, coupled with Adreno 505 graphics processing unit.

Internal storage capacity reaches 64GB, with the option to expand to 256GB using a microSD card. Nokia 6 incorporates a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual-SIM support. The phone’s rear camera capacity is 16MP with dual-LED flash and PDAF features, while the front camera has 8MP. It draws power from a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
