14 DAY TRIAL // ZTE launched its high-end Axon Pro smartphone in the US not so long ago, and now the unlocked version of the device is available for purchase from online retail locations like Amazon, Newegg and eBay.
Those opting to purchase the phone from Amazon will be able to pick it up in Phthalo Blue, while the Chromium Silver model is available solely from Newegg. eBay offers the Ion Gold, Chromium Silver and Phthalo Blue versions. The phone can also be purchased from ZTE’s US shop, and all locations sell the phone for $449 / €409.
The ZTE Axon Pro arrives on the market with a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and 534ppi. Under the hood lives a Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 430 GPU. ZTE has also thrown in 4GB of RAM, along with 32GB of non-expandable storage.
ZTE Axon Pro features a dual camera
In the photography department, we have a dual camera setup made up of a 13MP shooter capable of snapping photographs in low light conditions thanks to its f/1.8 aperture, plus a second 2MP camera that allows for quick focusing. The main snapper can also shoot 4K video.
As for the selfie shooter, users will find an 8MP front-facing unit. The premium phone is sustained by a 3,000 mAh battery on board and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, so you’ll be off the hook with updates until Android M comes along.
The spec list is completed by an AKM 4961 Hi-Fi (high fidelity) audio chipset, which should provide super sound quality. Those purchasing the ZTE Axon Pro will also be awarded the JBL E-13 in-ear headphones (normally you’d have to pay an extra $49.99 / €45 for them) plus a 2-year warranty.
Furthermore, the company is offering a premium protection plan covering repairs with a $79.99 / €73 co-payment without any insurance payments required.
Recently, ZTE also rolled out the Axon Lux Phone in China, a handset featuring faux leather, 128GB of storage, and an eye scanner. The company also introduced the Axon Mini which is the first phone to arrive with Force Touch, even before the iPhone 6s.
