Unusual by design but of extreme practicality in times of need, adapters usually represent an exceptional stopgap between old tech and new tech, linking past connector and ports generations with present and future ones, making life essentially easier for everybody.

In this regard, Belkin chose to link HDMI with VGA ports by also including audio capabilities to any available HDMI male or female connectors.

Being extremely useful in classrooms, offices or presentation halls, it is the only branded, multi-purpose adapter kit that gives existing equipment a possibility to be used with new digital devices and inputs.

Today's projectors and interactive whiteboards usually have a multitude of old-generation VGA ports. Connecting newer generation laptops, mobile phones, tablets, or even the new PCs-on-a-stick will create a major hassle for users who wish to interact with older VGA-limited tech.

In this regard, Belkin decided to bridge this technological gap and help customers in need by developing this universal adapter that will connect all your latest digital devices equipped with an HDMI port with any available VGA connector.

Binding the past with the present

Belkin's new adapter kit converts digital HDMI video signals into an analog signal plus audio output required by the already ominous VGA connectors in schools and presentation rooms.

The main features of the Universal HDMI to VGA Adapter Kit include HDMI-f to VGA-f Adapter, HDMI-m to HDMI-m converter and 1 M of 3.5 mm audio cable. It doesn't require any drivers, software or external power adapters. It's FCC and CE certified while it supports Apple TV, Chromecast, Chromebooks, and all HDMI output devices.

However, pricing will matter, as a vast number of corporate and education students use Apple MacBooks, HDMI to VGA connectors became quickly a must-have and Apple didn't miss the chance to provide such solutions. Adaptors like mini DisplayPort to VGA and Kanex' HDMI to VGA adaptor are still excellent products in their own right and are even better suited for Apple users.

However, the audio jack addition seems a useful feature that differentiates Belkin's product from the other adaptors, giving it an edge that will probably help the company win the much-underrated battle of adaptors.

According to TechPowerUp, Belkin will showcase the new Universal HDMI to VGA Adapter with Audio along with its complete line of education solutions at ISTE 2015.
