The development team at Naughty Dog is ready to confirm that it is planning to introduce a special Photo Mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which will be offered on launch, and that it will lock the single player campaign of the title at 30 FPS and 1080p resolution.

The information comes from a Questions & Answers session that took place after the reveal of the E3 2015 gameplay demo for the general public.

Anthony Newman, who is a lead designer, explains that "We had a really long, involved conversation about it with all the leads and directors. We just realized that, for the game we wanted to make, to make the best game possible, 30fps was just something that we had to do."

The Naughty Dog team believes that a locked lower framerate is better for the gameplay experience of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End than a variable higher one.

Apparently 60 FPS can be reached but the optimization required would take too much time and might result in another delay that neither the development team nor the fans want.

Because the multiplayer of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has less complex environments Naughty Dog believes that it will be able to deliver a higher framerate for it.

The Photo Mode will probably be similar to that included in The Last of Us on the PlayStation 4, and more details are set to be introduced at a later date.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be Nathan Drake's final adventure

The demo from E3 2015 shows the protagonist and Sully battling enemies and racing in a coastal city in order to reach a meeting point, showcasing the driving mechanics that Naughty Dog is adding to the series.

The story of the final title in the series will be centered around a retired Nathan Drake, who needs to help his brother Sam to find a massive pirate treasure and unravel a conspiracy linked to it.

Naughty Dog says that the game will look better than any other in the franchise and will offer a range of new and classic mechanics.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be out only on the PlayStation 4 during the first few months of 2016 and a beta for the multiplayer will be opened for those who get the coming Nathan Drake Collection on the same platform.
