Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is shaping up to be one of the biggest launches of next year and the development team at Naughty Dog is aiming to get gamers as excited as possible about the title even if there are close to three months until it arrives.

A new computer-generated teaser that ran before some screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakened uses moody music and carefully selected slow motion footage from the game to show that Nathan Drake will show off a new side of himself in his coming adventure.

Meanwhile a behind-the-scenes trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End allows fans to take a look at some of the most important people involved with the title, from Nolan North to the leader of Naughty Dog, explaining their work and the way the coming title will offer a significantly improved experience when compared to the rest of the series.

There's nothing entirely new in these two videos, but the very fact that Sony is using its considerable marketing muscle to put ads for the game so early and before showing of The Force Unleashed is a sign of how much promotion it will receive in 2016.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be delivered to all gamers who own a PlayStation 4 home console from Sony on March 18 of next year, with a Deluxe edition now available for pre-order.

This is designed to be the final title in the franchise that will focus on Nathan Drake.

Naughty Dog is delivering both big tweaks for both single-player and multiplayer

For gamers who want to focus on characters and classic action mechanics, the developers are planning to introduce more open environments and more complex combat encounters, with more options for players when it comes to dealing with enemies.

The game will also feature dialog trees for the first time, but their core story remains linear and focused on Nathan Drake and his brother Sam, who reappears after a long absence.

Naughty Dog says that the protagonist will have to deal with his biggest fears and find out how far he is willing to go to protect those who he loves, including his mentor and the love of his life.

For the first time, the developers are also thinking about launching downloadable content for the series that will offer new story moments to explore.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will also deliver a complex multiplayer mode that Naughty Dog has recently tested in a closed beta environment, trying to see how the main features are received by the community.

Gamers will be able to work in teams to try and dominate maps, and the gameplay is centered around a range of supernatural objects that can affect enemy groups or summon powerful sidekicks.

Naughty Dog says that it wants to make the multiplayer of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End more dynamic than before and that the mode will be designed to attract even those who have traditionally only focused on the narrative of the series.
