14 DAY TRIAL // In addition to the key features that Microsoft detailed during its October 26 event, the Windows 10 Creators Update is also getting some other tweaks too, and several of them were spotted in a video that the company aired during the conference.
First and foremost, Windows 10 Creators Update will come with an improved Action Center that will feature quick actions similar to those available on Windows 10 Mobile. For example, you’ll be allowed to quickly adjust brightness thanks to a slider, control volume, see battery info or turn Bluetooth on from the Action Center thanks to a new UI that makes a little bit more sense in Windows 10.
Ads in Settings?
Additionally, there’s also a new Windows Defender interface that we’ve already talked about, as well as custom accent colors, which is clearly a nice touch since it gives users more power to customize the look of the operating system. The screenshot that you see below, however, also features something that’s a bit unexpected: an ad in the top right corner.
While it’s not yet clear if Microsoft is really serious about bringing ads to the Settings screen, this photo certainly looks like so, but it remains to be seen if this is the case in the final version of the Creators Update.
Additionally, there’s the feature that Microsoft talked about during the event and which brings favorite people in the taskbar for quick contact options, such as email and Skype.
And last but not least, there seems to be a new app called Groove music maker that might allow you to do exactly what its name suggests: create your own tunes with the help of a very intuitive interface.
Microsoft Edge also looks set to receive its own share of improvements, including a feature called “set aside tabs” that will essentially let you save tabs and reopen them at a later date in another browsing session.
All these features were included in a video that Microsoft presented during the October 26 event, and they could change before the Creators Update actually goes live in the spring of 2017.
