On June 26, Canonical's David Planella sent in his regular report to inform Ubuntu developers and users alike about the work done by the Ubuntu Community Team in the week that passed.

Therefore, we can report that development has started for the upcoming LibreOffice viewer core app for Ubuntu Touch, as a prototype is now available for testing, the Sudoku and Terminal apps have been updated, initial support for the new Media-Hub background playlist was added to the Music app, and document sorting landed in the DocViewer app.

Moreover, the user interface of the Calendar app has been improved, and the team now works on improving the reliability and performance of the calendar sync functionality. The first Snappy open house has been scheduled, the Autopilot SDK plugin is ready for the merge, and work continues improving the Help and Calculator apps.

The team also started building better home pages for the Core Apps on the Ubuntu Developer website, as well as to identify and tag lots of bugs across the Core Apps to attract new Ubuntu Touch developers. The PPA builds of the Calculator app have been improved to update correctly.

"Hi all, here are some highlights of what the Ubuntu Community Team at Canonical have been working on this week," says David Planella, the Ubuntu Community Team Manager in the email announcement.

The developer documentation has been updated

In addition to the great new features highlighted above, we can also mention that a lot of work has been done for the developer documentation, which now offers an all-new QML/C++, an updated Aggregator Scopes Keywords guide, and initial implementation of the developer.ubuntu.com translation dashboard.

Also, documentation for the Autopilot Scopes Harness API (Application Programming Interface) has been added, along with the proposal for integrating and pulling in snap data from the Ubuntu Store. The documentation for Python Autopilot Harness for Scopes has been published as well.
