You might remember the Falldown game for Canonical's Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system, which we introduced to you a while ago in an exclusive first-look article with lots of awesome pictures.

Today, September 17, we are very happy to inform you guys, especially those who downloaded the game on their Ubuntu Phone devices, that Riccardo Padovani, the Falldown developer, announced the release of the first update, which introduces lots of cool things, but also fixes some of the most annoying bugs reported by players.

The big news we want to share with you today is that Falldown for Ubuntu Touch received a Settings screen where users can change the way they control the ball, with touch (new) or with tilt. As such, the new touch controls let players enjoy the game on the move, like on tram or car.

Additionally, the new Settings screen includes a slider that allows players to set the sensitivity of the ball. The smaller the sensitivity is, the faster the ball jumps when you move your phone or press with your finger on the touch screen, and vice-versa.

"Hello all, a week after the first release of Falldown I’m here to announce you a new update for the game with some interesting new features," says Riccardo Padovani. "But first of all, thanks to you all for downloading the app (350 users have downloaded it so far) and for all positive feedbacks we received, both on store and on the Internet."

Falldown 0.3 to add two new big features

In addition to the new Settings screen, which we have to admit is a welcome addition to the game, Falldown 0.2.2 comes with some optimization to the internal code, which means that it will open faster and will be more responsive, and adds the ability to reset the powerups' effects when the player loses his/her life.

Last but not least, an issue with audio, which started playing despite the fact that the mute mode was on, got fixed, and the Asturian, Hungarian, and Galician language translations have been added. The next major release of Falldown, version 0.3, promises to introduce two new big features, so keep an eye on our news section.
