14 DAY TRIAL // Łukasz Zemczak of Canonical has informed us earlier about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch development team in preparation for the soon-to-be-released OTA software updates for Ubuntu-powered devices.
According to Mr. Zemczak, on the day of February 16, 2016, the Ubuntu Touch team had to re-spin the Release Candidate (RC) image of the upcoming OTA-9.1 hotfix, which promises to finally patch the infamous incoming call Mir bug reported by many Ubuntu Phone users.
Apparently, because of the availability of a security patch for some recently discovered critical Glibc library vulnerabilities, which the Ubuntu Touch devs intend to include in the OTA-9.1 hotfix, the RC image will be re-built in the coming days and sent over to Ubuntu QA for testing.
"We had to re-spin the OTA-9.1 rc once again in the morning, this time picking up all the changes that were required. That being said, we will most probably have to re-build the candidate image one time as we have been informed by the security team about a very urgent Glibc security update coming our way," said Łukasz Zemczak.

On the other hand, the development of the next major OTA update for Ubuntu-powered devices, the OTA-10, which is expected sometime in the first week of March 2016, received several new features on the day of February 16, among which we can mention a new Indicator Bluetooth with fixes for some BlueZ timing issues.
Moreover, there was as new Dialer app that includes a small visual change, as well as a new Web Browser app with more convergence features. The Ubuntu Touch developers are thinking of implementing the Dekko email client by default with the OTA-10 software update, but tomorrow we will have more news on the matter.
