Therefore, we can report that the Ubuntu Touch OTA-6 update will bring many System Settings improvements, such as an APN editor, Wi-Fi hotspot (Internet tethering), Display and Brightness panel for convergence, as well as better support for scrolling the panels when rotated.

Moreover, there will be many improvements to the phone functionality of Ubuntu Touch, such as proper support for restoring the mute state, SMS fixes, enhancements to the handling of emergency calls, better support for making phone calls using Bluetooth, phone number comparisons, support for sending and receiving photo attachments, and Group Chat support.

There will also be numerous Sync improvements in the OTA-6 update for Ubuntu Touch, such as support for new buteo branches, support for seamlessly converting users who run syncevolution on their Ubuntu phones to upgrade to the buteo-based sync without issues, as well as integration of the contact sync status with the Transfer Indicator.

The Browser and Gallery apps will receive improvements as well

Moreover, the OTA-6 update for Ubuntu Touch will bring improvements to the Browser app, such as a two-column bookmarks view to the converged new tab view, and keyboard navigation to both the converged history view and converged new tab view, as well as Gallery app improvements, especially for thumbnails and for issues with large amount of photos.
