14 DAY TRIAL // Canonical's Alan Pope announced earlier today, September 13, the official dates for the next UOS (Ubuntu Online Summit) event, which will take place online, on the Ubuntu On Air YouTube channel.
The upcoming Ubuntu Online Summit event is a great opportunity for Ubuntu developers and users to gather together and discuss the features that will be implemented in the next major release of the world's most popular free operating system, Ubuntu Linux. November's Ubuntu Online Summit event is for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, the next long-term supported release of the OS.
Like with any similar event, Ubuntu users from all over the world are eagerly awaiting the Mark Shuttleworth Q&A session, which will be aired live as a pre-show event to the Ubuntu Online Summit conference, which takes place online at the distribution's dedicated YouTube channel, Ubuntu On Air. The Mark Shuttleworth Q&A session should air on November 2, 2015.
"I don’t believe we had any objections to the dates put forward by Daniel, so lets set the following dates for the next Ubuntu Online Summit (UOS): Tuesday November 3rd through Thursday November 5th, 14:00 to 20:00 UTC. We’ll begin setting up summit and Launchpad this week," says Alan Pope.
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is expected at the end of April 2016
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS will be an important release for the Ubuntu Linux operating system, as it will be the next long-term supported version, which means that it must be very stable, because numerous users of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) will upgrade to it.
At the moment, there's no information about the release schedule or the codename of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, but the OS is expected sometime at the end of April 2016. Rest assured that we will keep you guys informed as soon as we have more details about this release of Ubuntu Linux.
