It appears that users are not fans of major changes

It would appear that the Ubuntu Budgie development team is now complete. They were looking for a graphics designer in December, and it looks like they found the right person for the job.

We told you a while ago that Ubuntu Budgie, the GNU/Linux distribution formerly known as budgie-remix and based on the latest Budgie desktop environment and Ubuntu Linux operating system, achieved official Ubuntu flavor status from Canonical, and would join all the other editions as part of the Ubuntu 17.04 release in April.

The Ubuntu Budgie team is currently working hard to rename the entire project from budgie-remix to Ubuntu Budgie, which is a huge task because there are numerous parts that need to be renamed, including the logo. Therefore, they invite you today to vote for the new logo of the distribution via a Google+ poll.

"Via our community chat room, a graphics designer called tuxillo has proposed two new logos for Ubuntu Budgie. What do you think? Let us know by voting and adding (constructive) comments," said the Ubuntu Budgie developers on their latest Google+ post, where you can join the discussion and vote for your favorite logo.

Ubuntu Budgie 17.04 to participate in the Alpha release on January 26

As you can see from the Google+ poll and the screenshot gallery attached below, there are two new logos and the old one. For now, it looks like most of the users have voted for the old logo, which means that they don't like either the new logos or major changes like this, which could get people confused in many cases.

As the first Alpha of Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) was skipped, the opt-in flavors are looking ahead to the second Alpha release, which should hit the streets on January 26. Now that Ubuntu Budgie 17.04 is available for download as daily build ISO images, we see no reason for it to participate in Alpha 2.
