Twitter wants to offer power users more tools to work with

Twitter is reportedly planning to start offering a paid subscription to power users, varying from brands to news organizations.

According to The Verge, the new, advanced, features would come with Tweetdeck, the company's app for professionals, which they acquired a few years back in a multi-million deal. The new perks would include analytics, alerts about breaking news, as well as information about what someone's followers are tweeting about.

News comes as the numerous users have started sharing screenshots of the survey and a mock-up of the premium service.

"We're conducting this survey to assess the interest in a new, more enhanced version of Tweetdeck. We regularly conduct user research to gather feedback about people's Twitter experience and to better inform our product investment decisions, and we're exploring several ways to make Tweetdeck even more valuable for professionals," the company said in a statement.

It seems, however, that nothing has been built so far. In fact, they're using the survey to help the team prioritize the product roadmap for the new service. Depending on what people are telling Twitter, they're going to start building these new features within Tweetdeck. It should also be quite useful to know ahead of time just what features people find more interesting and what features they'd pay money for so they can focus on those beforehand, instead of fixing it up after launch.

Lots of features for a price

"The premium tool set will provide valuable viewing, posting, and signaling tools like alerts, trends and activity analysis, advanced analytics, and composing and posting tools all in one customizable dashboard. It will be designed to make it easier than ever to keep up with multiple interests, grow your audience, and see even more great content and information in real-time," Twitter's survey reads. "It would also offer extra features such as advanced audience insights & analytics, tools to monitor multiple timelines from multiple accounts and from multiple devices, including mobile, all in an ad-free experience."

Truth be told, this would be a great addition to Twitter and it would prove to be a profitable one. Since Twitter has always had a problem with revenues, adding this new Tweetdeck subscription could be a really good move for the company.

It is unclear at this point how much Twitter wants to charge users for this new service.
