Twitter has announced that it will replace the Moments tab with the Explore section. The Moments tab captures the most popular stories, in order to see what’s happening on the platform. Twitter says it will bring all features for finding tweets in one place, the Explore tab.

Users will be able to access the Explore tab in order to find trends, Moments, search for tweets on various topics, and check out live videos. Twitter says that the move aims at providing users with the means to find information faster and more easily.

The Explore tab has already started rolling out to Twitter for iOS and will make its way to Android in the coming weeks. Users should update to the latest Twitter version in order to get full functionality of the Explore section.

The Explore tab features multiple ways of searching for tweets

Twitter also urges users to send in their feedback and ideas of new features that they might want to be included in the app. The Explore tab isn’t exactly a new feature, it’s more of a reorganized UI that gives users easier access to tweets and information.

Back in 2015, Twitter had a Discover tab that displayed the most popular tweets among the people users followed, but it was soon replaced with the “While you were away” tab. The box occasionally appears in the feed, showing tweets that users might have missed when they weren’t exploring the app. There’s even an option for seeing less of the “While you were away” tab for users who like to keep their feed organized in a chronological manner.

Recently, Twitter and Periscope apps received support for Live 360 Video, allowing users to broadcast their moments across the network. Twitter started testing the feature among a small group of partners who broadcast Live 360 videos and viewers simply swiped the screen or moved their phone around in order to change the perspective.
